frequently asked questions:
is hormone therapy safe?
Hormone therapy is safe for most people and can really help with annoying symptoms like sleep disruption, mood swings, and night sweats. That said, it’s not the best fit for everyone—people with certain cancers or other health conditions may need to skip it. we will work together to find out what is best for your body and your life.
Do you consider other methods besides hormones?
yes, I offer whole-body care that includes hormone therapy as one option, but not the only one. Together, we create a custom plan tailored to your health, goals, and lifestyle.
do you take insurance for your hormone appointments?
No, I don’t take insurance. Payment is due when your appointment is confirmed. This lets me focus on what really matters—staying on top of the latest perimenopause research so your care is fully personalized and current.

Learning is Fun:
Navigating the perimenopause transition
this “transition” isn’t a warm-up act — it’s front-row chaos with cycle changes, mood swings, sleep wreckage, hot flashes, and brain fog. Active management can mean hormonal tweaks, non-hormonal meds, and/or lifestyle strategies. Telling someone to “just wait for menopause” is basically medical gaslighting.

hormones in flux: perimenopause edition
testosterone and estrogen don’t decline in a straight line — they spike, crash, and wobble. That’s why some people get sudden acne, mood swings, or libido surges right before levels ultimately fall. Translation: hormone therapy in perimenopause isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s timing, tailoring, and tracking.

timing is everything
According to DOPS, KEEPS, and ELITE (3 large studies), starting hormone therapy around menopause supports heart health, keeps arteries supple, and even gives a mood/cognition edge. Wait a decade or two, and the ship has sailed — timing makes or breaks the benefits.

vaginas matter
According to GSM reviews and safety studies, vaginal estrogen works wonders for dryness, pain, and pee problems — and the systemic absorption is tiny. Even breast-cancer survivors may be candidates with careful counseling. Bottom line: the vagina deserves treatment, not neglect.
